Certificate in Crime Prevention and Community Safety
The Certificate in Crime Prevention and Community Safety is a modular programme which will cover the theoretical underpinnings of situational crime prevention theory and techniques. The programme can be taken on a full-time, part-time, or flexible basis. This programme will be offered in the 2009/10 academic session, and will run for 11 weeks during the Spring term, i.e. from January to March 2010. Formal contact time is 8 hours per week (2 hours per module) for the duration of the course.
Prospective students are strongly advised to take the course on a part time basis if they intend to take the course whilst working full time because of the heavy workload involved.
The credits gained from successful completion of the Certificate in Crime Prevention and Community Safety can contribute towards a modular Graduate Diploma/MSc in Crime Science.
